Romke is seen as a just and dispassionate god of the dead. Death comes to all, and when it occurs Romke judges the soul and conveys it to its final destination. His priests teach that those who revere the gods and act on their wishes have done their proper service and will be rewarded in the afterlife.
The faithful of Romke provide people with peaceful transitions into the care of the Lord of the Dead. They help the dying put their affairs in order, and they officiate funeral rites for those who can’t afford the lavish ceremonies of their faith. The tenets of Romke’s faithful compel them to forestall or prevent untimely deaths whenever possible. Since undead violate the natural order of death, priests of Romke seek out these monsters and destroy them.
As Romke judges souls, he acquires all the knowledge that person had in life. Due to this nature, he is also worshiped as the god of knowledge and learning. His temples frequently have a dual nature as libraries and crypts: such places are literally as quiet as a tomb.
Romke’s holy symbol is a tome featuring a skull motif. Tales say that he appears as a silvery dragon, guarding the Astral Gates.
