Drevossian Calendar

DAYS OF THE WEEK

In the Drevossian calendar, there are seven days in a week. The week starts by paying homage to the sun, then the five allied kingdoms, and then the moon.

In areas where Koore or Lokdov are the dominant deities, Soladay is considered a holy day of worship and rest. In areas where Sona or Ogrus are the dominant deities, Lunaday is treated as a holy day of worship and rest.

MONTHS OF THE YEAR

SPRING MONTHS

Seeding. The first month of spring and the year, when areas in temperate climates start their growing season. The month of Seeding represents the start of new life, and honors Basella.
Windrain. The second month of spring. Drevossian spring seasons are often visited by blustery, rainy days, so the month of Windrain honors Lokdov.
Sprouting. The third month of spring, and when crops start to grow. Monah is honored by the month, as it is the time to judge seedlings and determine which will be fruitful.

SUMMER MONTHS

Forging. The first month of summer, when the temperatures start to rise. The heat is reminiscent of Heim’s forges, and so she is honored during this month.
Highsummer. The second month of summer, when the sun shines brightest and the days are longest. Because of the sun’s prevalence, Koore is honored during Highsummer.
Emberheart. The third month of summer. Temperatures continue to rise, as if the land itself reaches a fever pitch. Norn is honored during this month, with the rising heat symbolic of his rising temper.

AUTUMN MONTHS

Harvest. The first month of autumn, when the harvests begin in temperate regions. This also marks the start of the rainy season in warmer climates. Fespaan is honored during the month, when cultivated land is returned to its natural, wild state.
Changing. The second month of autumn, when the leaves of the trees turn spectacular colors and temperatures begin to cool. Lotah, the trickster and revolutionary, is honored during this time as a bringer of change.
Hallows. The third month of autumn, when the land turns brown and the nights grow dark. The folk of Drevoss honor Ramke during this time, reflecting on their lives as the land goes dormant in preparation for winter.

WINTER MONTHS

Frostfall. The first month of winter, when frost nips the air and snow begins to fall. Kodava is honored during the time to ask for her protection in the coming winter.
Highwinter. The second month of winter, when the days are short, cold, and snowy. Ogrus is honored during the time, as the land is coated in water, albeit for a short time.
Winterlight. The third month of winter and the final month of the year. Radiant lights in the night sky and the occasional day of warming give hope, and arcane magic is supposedly empowered during this time. Because of Sona’s connection to arcana, she is honored during this month.
